DALLAS COMICON 2.0 was held the weekend of April 5-6 2003. It was my first local show in about 6-8 months, and I had a great time.

1. A look down artist's alley, from my vantage point. Second from the right (in blue shirt) is show organizer (and PVP editor) MARK WALTERS, looking typically harried.

2. The awesome TIM BRADSTREET shows what he's going to be reading on the plane ride home.

3. PVP's SCOTT KURTZ (left) and LIBERTY MEADOWS creator (and top babe artist) FRANK CHO buddy up at the show; Frank also provided covers for the first two issues of PVP. Note the extremely professional photography, clearly denoted by the reflection of the flash in the glass behind them.

4. MICHAEL LARK (BATMAN: NINE LIVES, GOTHAM CENTRAL) stays busy, busy, busy, doing sketches all day long.

5. Soon-to-be-Houstonite NICK DERINGTON, who has a story in the new X-FORCE, as well as a regular back-up feature in SAVAGE DRAGON.

6. SHADES OF BLUE artist CAL SLAYTON has an intense conversation with somebody (probably Nick Derington, who was right next to him)...

7. ... and finally turns to strike a come-hither pose for the photographer. This guy is notorious for not smiling in photos.

8. A little wide-eyed, but still gorgeous, TANYA ROBERTS from CHARLIE'S ANGELS & THAT '70s SHOW.

10. Yup, the old 'posing-with-the-famous-person' shot... gotta have it.

11. The adorable and unbelievably talented ANNE RAMSAY, most famous for her memorable role as the flaky sister Lisa on MAD ABOUT YOU; Anne also appeared in Tim Burton's PLANET OF THE APES, and had small roles in two STAR TREK-TNG episodes.

12. Anne Ramsay is tops of my "cool celebrities I've actually met" list. She was unbelievably gracious, approachable, sweet, and funny. One of the nicest celebs I've ever met at a con.

13. Anne showing the Bulldog Malone sketch I did for her.

14. The usual complement of Boba Fetts and Stormtroopers were in attendance. In the background, Tim Bradstreet seems to be pretending they don't exist, or at least hoping they don't come to his table.

15. Plenty of pretty girls actually showed up, including Jennifer Simmons (left) and Tania Perez (right).

16. Local artist KEVIN STEELE sketches for all he's worth.
17. PAUL MILLIGAN shows off his new Bean cartoons... including Bat-bean...
18. CHIRS MEDELLIN debuted his sf/western ROAM at the show. Youse guys should all pick it up, because it's pretty cool.
19. MOON RUSH artist/co-creator JIM DALY blows us a kiss.
20. Nick Derington and fiance Tania Perez smile for the camera.
...and no there isn't a number nine; yes it was suppose to be a slideshow, but someone didn't scan pictures with the same dimensions. -Ra!
